We Fix Baby Teeth!

We Fix Baby Teeth We Fix Baby Teeth

Parents ask why we save baby teeth when children will lose them at age 5 or 6. Well, aside from the extreme pain your children will endure from not properly treating decay, primary teeth(baby teeth) serve a purpose. Here are a few reasons why primary teeth should not be taken lightly:

  1. Primary teeth help guide proper eruption of permanent teeth. If you lose teeth too early, adjacent teeth will drift and tilt into empty spaces blocking out permanent teeth from eruption.
  2. The purpose of your teeth is to chew food! Primary teeth help maintain proper nutrition.
  3. Decay in baby teeth can affect the development of permanent teeth. Unhealthy bacteria can pass from primary to permanent teeth.

Preventative care is imperative but if primary teeth require treatment it is important to seek proper care. If you ever have any questions regarding your child’s oral health, do not hesitate to contact us.
